Transferring a domain into Nakroteck

Domains 6 views 2 min read Updated 1 hour ago
Quick Answer

Move your existing domain from another registrar to Nakroteck in four steps. It usually takes five to seven days.

You can bring domains you already own to Nakroteck. We do not charge a transfer fee, and the transfer adds a year to your expiry date.

If the domain was registered or last transferred in the last 60 days, the registry will block the new transfer. That is an ICANN rule we cannot override. Wait it out and try again.

Before you start

  • The domain must be at least 60 days old. This is an ICANN rule, not ours.
  • The domain must not have been transferred in the last 60 days.
  • Privacy protection at the current registrar must be switched off so we can see the admin email.

Step 1: unlock the domain

Log in to your current registrar and find the domain settings page. Look for a Transfer Lock or Registrar Lock toggle and turn it off.

Step 2: get the auth code

The auth code (also called EPP code or transfer code) is a short password the new registrar needs to move the domain. Your current registrar usually emails it to the admin contact on file.

Step 3: start the transfer at Nakroteck

  1. Go to the Nakroteck domain page and click Transfer.
  2. Type in the domain name.
  3. Paste the auth code.
  4. Complete the order and pay the one-year extension fee.

Step 4: approve the transfer

Your old registrar sends an email asking you to confirm the transfer. Click the link inside and approve. Most transfers finish in five to seven days.

What if something goes wrong

Open a support ticket with the domain name and the transfer order number. We will trace it with the registry and get you unstuck.
